Re: [epf-orga] EPF 2026 - registration declined
by Carolin Geib
Dear Gulia,
Thanks for the clarification.
We were not aware that 6connect had been acquired by Hilco Global.
As we understand it, 6connect no longer exists as a separate entity.
Therefore, you cannot use the 6connect AS number to register for EPF as
Hilco Global.
The same applies to Aaron, whose registration we will also need to decline.
Hilco Global is currently not peering at any of the four EPF host IXPs or
the guest IXP.
Therefore, the only way for Hilco Global to attend EPF is by becoming a
sponsor.
Please let me know if you are interested in sponsoring EPF. We would be
happy to provide you with more information about the available sponsorship
options.
Best regards on behalf of the hosts
Carolin

Dear Giulia,
Thank you for your interest in the European Peering Forum.
Unfortunately, your registration for the forum has been declined because you
are not peering at any of the four EPF host IXPs and/or the guest IXP. If
your company has concrete deployment plans at one of the host exchanges you
are also welcome to attend EPF. Please verify.
Also EPF is a networking event for the peering community, not a commercial
event. As such, any commercial/sales personnel from the participating
networks are discouraged from registering.
If you disagree with our decision, please send an email to
info(a)peering-forum.eu <mailto:info@peering-forum.eu> .
We apologise for the inconvenience.

Re: [epf-orga] [epf-info] EPF 2026 - registration declined
by Arnold Nipper
Yes, Hilco Global has effectively integrated 6connect's main business.
Rather than a standard corporate acquisition of the entire company
entity, Hilco Global's division, IPv4.Global, acquired 6connect's
flagship ProVision product suite and the 6connect team joined their
operations. [1, 2]
## ➡️ Deal Breakdown
*
* The Acquisition: IPv4.Global (a division of Hilco Streambank / Hilco
Global) acquired the ProVision IPAM (IP Address Management) and DDI
solution suite directly from 6connect. [2, 3]
* The Team Merger: Following the product suite acquisition, the 6connect
team officially "joined" IPv4.Global to continue developing and scaling
the software under the Hilco umbrella. [1]
* The Relaunch: In late 2025, IPv4.Global officially relaunched the
ProVision network automation platform, backed by Hilco Global's capital
and infrastructure. [4]
*
## 📊 Strategic Rationale
Before the acquisition, Hilco’s IPv4.Global and 6connect were already
close technology partners (jointly developing tools like the ReView IP
address audit platform). Buying the ProVision suite allowed Hilco to
transform IPv4.Global from a strict IPv4 transaction marketplace into a
comprehensive network automation and IP resource management SaaS
provider. [1, 5, 6, 7]
------------------------------
If you need more details, please let me know:
*
* Are you looking for specific financial terms of the asset purchase?
* Do you need information on how this affects current 6connect /
ProVision software licensing?

Hi,
Does anyone know if its true that 6connect was acquired by Hilco? She also
registered using 6connects AS number, which made me wonder whether she
might be involved in peering-related topics.
Im also not sure whether Giulia, as an Account Executive, is responsible
for peering-related topics.

Hi Carolin,
My colleague, Zsolt was approved, however my application was declined.
In Türk Telekom International, over the last 7-8 years I am the dedicated negotiator for interconnections with partners together with Zsolt, our product manager, even if I’m part of the commercial team.
May I ask you to reconsider this decision? We’re not trying to play the rules, that’s just how we distribute responsibilities internally.
Many thanks in advance,
Viktor

I also participated this event before (Athens, Paris), but unfortunately I did not receive an invite. Zsolt and myself are planning to apply now that we finally have our internal approvals and we’d plan to bring a 3rd colleague as well if it is possible (Gökhan).
I’m a little bit confused about the applications and whether it’s possible and under what conditions. Please let me know the possibilities.

Dear Carolin,
Nice to meet you. My name is Viktor Marofka from TTI (AS6663) and my colleague forwarded this invitation to the Peering Forum.
Many thanks in advance,
Viktor

Hey Arnold,
Great to hear from you and thank you for taking the time to review the
situation again with the organising team.
We appreciate both the reconsideration of our case and your
acknowledgement that the registrations were approved and acted upon in
good faith. We also appreciate the recognition of the practical
implications and costs that had already been incurred by our colleagues
based on those approvals.
Thank you for offering this solution. We are pleased that all six
registered colleagues will be able to attend EPF 2026 without requiring
any cancellations or changes to existing travel arrangements.
We are grateful for the efforts made to resolve this matter and
appreciate the constructive and pragmatic approach taken by the EPF
team. We highly value our relationship with EPF, thank you for your
understanding, and look forward to another successful event.
Kind regards,
Met vriendelijke groet,
Léon van der Laan

Dear Léon,
Thank you for your message and for setting out the background so clearly.
Having reviewed the case again within the organising team, we
acknowledge that NL-ix and Open Peering are both brands of Broadband
Hosting B.V., and that this was not identified on our side when the
registrations were submitted and approved. We also fully recognise that
your colleagues acted in good faith on those approvals, that flights,
hotels and meetings have already been booked and confirmed, and that
real costs are attached to them. That timing is on us, and we are sorry
for the inconvenience it has caused.
We would therefore like to offer the following practical solution for
EPF 2026:
* All six registered colleagues are welcome to attend. No one needs to
be cancelled and no travel arrangements need to be undone.
* In line with the attendance limit of four representatives per
organisation, four of the six will have access to MEET and 1-1 meetings.
* The remaining two colleagues are welcome to join the conference
programme, coffee breaks, the social events and the networking areas,
but will not have a MEET account or 1-1 meeting slots.
In practice this requires no change on your side. Four of your
colleagues have already activated their MEET accounts, and those four
keep full access, including any meetings they have already arranged. We
will de-activate MEET for the remaining two. If you would prefer a
different combination of four, please let us know by Friday, 28 August
2026, 12:00 CEST and we will arrange it.
We would ask you to treat this as a one-time accommodation for this
edition rather than a precedent, and we note and appreciate your
commitment to aligning future registrations with the clarified policy
from EPF 2027 onwards.
Thank you for your patience and for your continued support of EPF.
Kind regards,
Caro and Arnold, on behalf of the EPF Organising Team

Hi Arnold,
I would like to come back on this. As Nadir is responsible for France, I would like the team to discuss which account will be de-activated.
Thanks again for your support!

Hey Léon
Great to hear that you are happy with the solution. One minor issue.
Part of the deal also was:

Kalkman, Dirk (Open Peering) did not yet activate his account. So we
picked him.
Meanwhile, all of the NL-ix attendees activated their account. As
Bennacef, Nadir (NL-ix) doesn's show an ASN, we picked him.
Kind regards
Arnold
