Re: [epf-orga] [epf-info] EPF 2026 - registration declined
by Das, Reshma
Hi Arnold,
Sorry for the inconvenience. It is just some paperwork that requires approvals from multiple parties.
* Carolin will keep your registration open until next Thursday (the
day after tomorrow?)
>>> Not the day after tomorrow, but Thursday, September 3rd. If I receive the necessary approvals before then, I will let you know.
If we do not have confirmation by September 3rd, Anton will be presenting.
If I am able to travel Tuesday works, but since there is a possibility that Anton needs to present that’s why I was ok to get a slot suitable for Anton.
Thanks & Regards,
Reshma Das

*sigh* … we've been going forth and back several times with Anton
regarding the time slot. Honestly, we would like to have the talk on
Tuesday. What I propose
* Carolin will keep your registration open until next Thursday (the
day after tomorrow?)
* I've already added Anton as a speaker
* Upload the final presentation when you know who is presenting
* We keep both slots (Tue/Wed) available for your presentation

Hi Arnold,
I am still working on my travel documents. If they do not arrive in time, Anton will present instead
We have set next Thursday as the deadline to confirm who will be presenting. Therefore, I would like to request that both of us be registered as speakers for now.
If needed, I can upload the presentation with both of our names listed as presenters.

Re: [epf-orga] EPF 19 Attendance – NL-IX and Open Peering
by Arnold Nipper
Hey Léon
Great to hear that you are happy with the solution. One minor issue.
Part of the deal also was:
> In practice this requires no change on your side. Four of your
> colleagues have already activated their MEET accounts, and those four
> keep full access, including any meetings they have already arranged. We

Kalkman, Dirk (Open Peering) did not yet activate his account. So we
picked him.
Meanwhile, all of the NL-ix attendees activated their account. As
Bennacef, Nadir (NL-ix) doesn's show an ASN, we picked him.
Kind regards
Arnold

by Arnold Nipper
Hi Julia
can you please de-activate/remove the MEET accounts of
* Kalkman, Dirk (Open Peering)
* Bennacef, Nadir (NL-ix)
this giving Broadband Hosting B.V. 4 accounts. Dirk definitely did not
yet activate hos account. Nadir did. Please check if there are sessions
scheduled.

Hey Arnold,
Great to hear from you and thank you for taking the time to review the
situation again with the organising team.
We appreciate both the reconsideration of our case and your
acknowledgement that the registrations were approved and acted upon in
good faith. We also appreciate the recognition of the practical
implications and costs that had already been incurred by our colleagues
based on those approvals.
Thank you for offering this solution. We are pleased that all six
registered colleagues will be able to attend EPF 2026 without requiring
any cancellations or changes to existing travel arrangements.
We are grateful for the efforts made to resolve this matter and
appreciate the constructive and pragmatic approach taken by the EPF
team. We highly value our relationship with EPF, thank you for your
understanding, and look forward to another successful event.
Kind regards,
Met vriendelijke groet,
Léon van der Laan

Dear Léon,
Thank you for your message and for setting out the background so clearly.
Having reviewed the case again within the organising team, we
acknowledge that NL-ix and Open Peering are both brands of Broadband
Hosting B.V., and that this was not identified on our side when the
registrations were submitted and approved. We also fully recognise that
your colleagues acted in good faith on those approvals, that flights,
hotels and meetings have already been booked and confirmed, and that
real costs are attached to them. That timing is on us, and we are sorry
for the inconvenience it has caused.
We would therefore like to offer the following practical solution for
EPF 2026:
* All six registered colleagues are welcome to attend. No one needs to
be cancelled and no travel arrangements need to be undone.
* In line with the attendance limit of four representatives per
organisation, four of the six will have access to MEET and 1-1 meetings.
* The remaining two colleagues are welcome to join the conference
programme, coffee breaks, the social events and the networking areas,
but will not have a MEET account or 1-1 meeting slots.
In practice this requires no change on your side. Four of your
colleagues have already activated their MEET accounts, and those four
keep full access, including any meetings they have already arranged. We
will de-activate MEET for the remaining two. If you would prefer a
different combination of four, please let us know by Friday, 28 August
2026, 12:00 CEST and we will arrange it.
We would ask you to treat this as a one-time accommodation for this
edition rather than a precedent, and we note and appreciate your
commitment to aligning future registrations with the clarified policy
from EPF 2027 onwards.
Thank you for your patience and for your continued support of EPF.
Kind regards,
Caro and Arnold, on behalf of the EPF Organising Team

Re: [epf-orga] EPF 19 Attendance – NL-IX and Open Peering
by Léon van der Laan
Hey Arnold,
Great to hear from you and thank you for taking the time to review the situation again with the organising team.
We appreciate both the reconsideration of our case and your acknowledgement that the registrations were approved and acted upon in good faith. We also appreciate the recognition of the practical implications and costs that had already been incurred by our colleagues based on those approvals.
Thank you for offering this solution. We are pleased that all six registered colleagues will be able to attend EPF 2026 without requiring any cancellations or changes to existing travel arrangements.
We are grateful for the efforts made to resolve this matter and appreciate the constructive and pragmatic approach taken by the EPF team. We highly value our relationship with EPF, thank you for your understanding, and look forward to another successful event.

Dear Léon,
Thank you for your message and for setting out the background so clearly.
Having reviewed the case again within the organising team, we

your colleagues acted in good faith on those approvals, that flights,
hotels and meetings have already been booked and confirmed, and that
real costs are attached to them.
Four of your
colleagues have already activated their MEET accounts, and those four

will de-activate MEET for the remaining two. If you would prefer a
different combination of four, please let us know by Friday, 28 August
2026, 12:00 CEST and we will arrange it.
We would ask you to treat this as a one-time accommodation for this

commitment to aligning future registrations with the clarified policy
from EPF 2027 onwards.
Thank you for your patience and for your continued support of EPF.

*"Hi Jonas! There was a question about who we had been in contact with
regarding the interconnections at Netnod, and I remembered you.It was
related to the registration for the conference in Paris, EPF. Sorry for
bothering you. I actually felt a bit embarrassed about it.Have a great
day!"*
